Redesign of my Portfolio using NextJS 14 and Vercel

Hello Vercel Community

Just deployed my portfolio two days back. I was looking into some feedback on how well this is. Like SEO, design & flow. Is it good enough for me to get freelancing clients for web design / graphic design. :technologist:

I was looking for some work to gain using this. I’m trying to provide web development, digital marketing & branding services for the people in my hometown Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. But if possible I’m willing to accept remote opportunities as well. :white_heart:

I started the development to try integrating my NPM library Jaggery, just have only one single component there. But the library is well architected to support more components & more frontend frameworks. Had some issues on getting it integrated directly from the library, so had to implement the component in NextJS project itself. I’ll be looking into how to add the components I currently built onto the project to the Jaggery library. :sparkles::sparkles::dizzy:

I used NextJS, TailwindCSS, ChakraUI & a bit of SVG shaders on the frontend. Also integrated Vercel’s postgres database powered by NeonDB. Which I really wanted to explore more. I started the development with NextJS 13 but in the end I switched over to NextJS 14. Would like to know if there are some issues, I need to be looking into. Thank You! :white_heart:

PS. The interactive background gradient was created by following this Morphing CSS Gradient tutorial by WeCoded on Youtube :sparkles::sparkles::dizzy::white_heart:

I’ll soon release a devlog about the rest of the development on my blog decodedHTML.com :technologist::crossed_fingers:

I don’t see super colourful portfolios these days, so this was refreshing! Thanks for sharing, @htmldecoder!

Are there any stand out features of using Vercel that helped with you with your portfolio?

So, it’s been a while since I promised to publish a devlog about the development of portfolio redesign using NextJS 14.2.13, TailwindCSS & ChakraUI. I did create a draft a while back, but only now I found the time to edit it.

You can visit the devlog directly from my portfolio using the link: riojos.in/next14-portfolio-devlog

Or just click on the thumbnail below

PS. I’m addicted to creating redirected links directly from my portfolio configured using NextJS, URLs are cleaner though :yum:
