Start a New Chat to Continue Where I Left Off

I am trying to continue a chat but I keep getting the following error: Invalid message ID. Start a new chat or edit and retry your last message.

I am guessing the chat is getting too long. Is there a way I can start a new chat to pick up where I left off so that I can continue my project easily?
