Help for a Non-Coder: How to Deploy Apps with Vercel?

Hi Vercel Community,

I’ve been exploring the Vercel documentation because I want to deploy apps. I don’t have any coding experience, and I’ve never developed a website or app before—I’m just excited about the possibilities this could bring to my business ideas.

I’m not interested in learning how to code; I just want a simple and straightforward way to deploy apps. However, I’m finding myself getting lost in the details of the documentation. I should also mention that I’ve never used GitHub before, so I’m unfamiliar with how it works.

What would you recommend for someone like me? Should I focus on understanding the docs, or are there beginner-friendly tools, guides, or workflows that can make this process easier for non-coders?

I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance you can offer. Thank you!

Hi, @morenotech! Welcome to the Vercel Community

If you’re not interested in learning how to code, have you heard of v0? If not, give it a go! All you have to do is prompt v0 with your idea and v0 can generate it for you.

Once you’re happy with how it looks and it’s functionality, all you have to do is deploy to Vercel. Below is a short GIF showing the steps:

  1. Write a prompt
  2. v0 builds for you based on your prompt
  3. Add to project
  4. Deploy to Vercel
  5. Auto generated domain .vercel.app is live!

This could be a good starting point if you want to use Vercel ecosystem products.

Thank you for the clear and helpful guide!

Let us know if we can help with anything else!

Are there any prompting best practices from Vercel’s documentation that I could input into ChatGPT or Claude 3.5 Sonnet to help me better prompt v0?

Hey @morenotech! We don’t have that documentation, however, I know @harvsducs has created this tool to help with prompting. Hopefully it’s helpful!

We also have an upcoming event about how @jonoroboto and his team uses v0, might be helpful to see how others are prompting v0.

Thanks! Really impressed by how helpful the Vercel community is!
