Vercel caching my domain after deleting it

I’ve deleted my domain name from all vercel projects as I’ve moved to my own server. I’ve changed my DNS records to point to my new server. Despite this, a 404 error from Vercel appears every time someone visits my domain; this is despite Namecheap confirming I have updated my records correctly. They’re insisting the issue is on vercels side.

WHy is this happening?

There’s another community post with 404 debugging tips that might be helpful. Please give these solutions a try and let us know how it goes.

A human should be around soon to offer more advice. But you can also get helpful information quickly by asking v0.

Hi @kevinstark86, welcome to the Vercel Community!

Sorry that you’re facing this issue. Can you confirm the following:

  • did you transfer your domain from Vercel to Namecheap or was it always with namecheap?
  • have you tried using incognito browser windows or clearing the browser cache?
  • can you share the domain name so I can try it on our side?

Hi @kevinstark86, thanks for explaining these issue in detail. I can see that the DNS has now propagated to your DigitalOcean server but I also see the Vercel page.

Let me take this to our engineering team.

Hi @kevinstark86, I see that the DNS record for www.viralpixel.co.uk still points to Vercel see DNS checker.

I think removing that from Namecheap will solve the issue.

As I can see, your A record (without www) is working fine.
