DNS issue with vercel

Hi everyone, I setup my domain name correctly, it was working fine at first but now the root domain (https://example.com) is not working, only the subdomain (https://www.example.com) is working fine

I’m using cloudflare for my dns record management I added these correctly CNAME www cname.vercel-dns.com proxy-off
A @ 76.76.21.21 proxy-off

The domain config on vercel is showing active and valid for both urls

SSL/TLS on cloudflare is set to “full”

When I enter the base url on a browser:

This site can’t be reached
example.com took too long to respond.
Try:

Checking the connection
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

The domain troubleshooting guide can help with most custom domain configuration issues. You might be able to use that guide to solve it before a human is available to help you. Then you can come back here and share the answer for bonus points.

You can also use v0 to narrow down the possibilities.

Hello, what is the domain you are facing issue with?

The base domain name: https://learnnaija.ng

Thanks! Looks like the DNS hasn’t propagated correctly. I can see that some of the IPs are belong to Amazon server: DNS Checker - DNS Check Propagation Tool

Oh! Sorry, I gave up and decided I will buy another domain name since this is taking too long

I set my dns back to use vercel’s nameserver and it worked

Should I set it back to cloudflare, maybe there’s a solution to it? I will really prefer that

I decided on this out of frustration, thank you so far

The domain indeed looks correct and settings are working as expected now. Your domain should be accessible without any interruption. Could you confirm if you are still facing any issue?

Yeah, it’s working fine now. But I don’t want to have to manage two domains

What could have been wrong with it when I was using cloudflare dns nameservers

I set it up correctly with my vercel domain settings showing active and valid for both the base url and www.

Unfortunately, I am not sure without looking at the exact scenario. If you switch the settings back to Cloudflare, I can investigate further. Here is the guide how to setup Cloudflare DNS: Should I use Cloudflare in front of Vercel?

I’ve changed it to cloudflare, it worked for only a few hours and stopped working now
This is my cloudflare config and everything is valid on vercel domains

Please contact Cloudflare support in this case since they are serving the DNS. We don’t have much visibility but I am expecting your Browser is trying to cache the content and failing to load the website somehow.
