Cache Issue since January 22nd, 5:30 PM UTC

Hello,

Since January 22nd at 5:30 PM UTC, we have been experiencing issues with our application which uses the Next.js framework. Here are the errors we are encountering:

  1. Error 1:
Failed to update prerender cache for /login TypeError [ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE]: The “data” argument must be of type string or an instance of Buffer, TypedArray, or DataView. Received undefined

  2. Error 2:
    digest: ‘DYNAMIC_SERVER_USAGE’

These errors seem to be affecting the cache update process and dynamic server usage. We are unsure whether the issue stems from our configuration or from Vercel’s infrastructure.

Additional details about our project:

Framework: Next.js

First Occurrence Timestamp: January 22nd, 5:30 PM UTC

We would appreciate your assistance in identifying and resolving this issue. Please let us know if you need further information (error logs, configuration details, etc.).

Hey @baptistearnou-aircal.

It looks like you also opened a ticket related to this error. One of our Customer Success Engineers asked some followup questions there which can help direct our investigation into the issue. They also suggested upgrading the Next.js version to rule out version-specific causes.

If you’re comfortable sharing more info in public, feel free to post it here. Otherwise, you can share the details in your support case where only the Vercel team will be able to see. :slightly_smiling_face:
